Michael B. Jordan made his directing debut with Creed 3 and delivered a moving performance.

Jordan brings a vulnerability to his character, Adonis Creed, that gives a deeper look into his past. He leans into the emotions needed to depict the character’s internal struggles. Jordan portrays Adonis’s story with intensity and conviction—brilliant writing by Ryan Coogler, Keenan Coogler & Zach Baylin.

Actress Tessa Thompson does an excellent job in the supporting role of Adonis’s wife, Bianca. The depths of her character brought more substance to the storyline.

Jonathan Major’s character, Damian Anderson, brings a prominent element to the film that will keep you on the edge of your seat. His chemistry with the core cast is academy worthy.

While there is no language about God in this film, several Biblical principles can be drawn from the script. You will see a story of brotherhood, betrayal, forgiveness, redemption, and healing. As black men, we are often driven by our past, and Creed 3 invites the world into that experience.

From survivor’s remorse to healing from past trauma—Michael B. Jordan directed an epic cinematic masterpiece. The climactic symbolic scene at the end is unforgettable. Overall, the film is phenomenal. It is a must-see. It will be in theaters on March 3, 2023.
